Wentworth Miller: Serenades and Woo's Korea! (Part 1)

Went’s plane touched down at the Seoul Korean International Airport on a late Wednesday afternoon in March 2007.  He was greeted warmly by millions of adoring  fans who were fainting, crying [She laughs.  I added that in for a little bit of drama] and screaming “Annyeonghaseyo, Wentworth!” He was also showered with bunches of flowers and greeted with huge Korean smiles.

Went was in Korea to do promotional work and was a spokesperson for the Korean brand ‘Bean Pole Jeans’. Cheil Industries Inc. said it had signed a one-year contract with Went to be the model for Bean Pole Jeans.

Went at the Hotel

Went was also there to promote the Nam Yang French Café, a Korean coffee drink.  He did photo shoots, for both brands, and was interviewed.  He also attended the famous Bean Pole Jeans press conference which took place at the Shilla Hotel in Seoul, South Korea. [My goodness  to think he did all this in just two days. He truly was a very busy man.]

Hugs & more Hugs!

Some quotes from Went by the Korea Times!

(Miller is immensely popular among Korean fans, who call him “Sok Ho-pil,” the Koreans version of his Prison Break character Michael Scofield. Scofield is also the name of Frank William Scofield, a Canadian who helped in Korea’s independence movement.)

“I was told my character was given a nickname in Korean, which has a direct reference to a historical figure. That meant the world to me to know I’m part of a show that knows no borders when it comes to cultural differences or language.

“In my career as an actor, there is a catchphrase that Scofield always says often in regards to his brother, `Have a little faith.’ In my own career as an actor, there were times when I was the only one who believed in myself in the face of the odds.

“I am very pleased to be part of the Bean Pole family. The relationship makes sense to me since Bean Pole has a lot in common with Prison Break. We’re both enterprises that have the highest levels of creativity, craftsmanship and innovation.”
mm mm I'd love to do that!

... and that!

... and also that! [She laughs & winks.]

One of my Favourites of Went.

I love this one too, it's so sweet!

One facet of Went's that I admire is that he remains calm and centred at all times even when there are hiccups with some of his interviews.  He oozes with self-confidence and that makes him even more attractive.

I totally agree with Went when he speaks about style and creativity.  A very wise man!

Wow I have so many pictures of Went's photo shoot and I would love to add them all, but unfortunately that would be impossible.  They're wonderful pictures but then I'm sure that you have most of them yourselves.

So Lovely!

Beautiful!

Magnificent!

mm I Love ...

This is only Part 1 of  dear Went’s trip to Korea.  There is more to follow.

Thank you everyone and goodbye for now!

Wentworth Miller: A stylish man.

Went was also on the front covers of the famous GQ magazines i.e. Germany in 2007 and Italy 2008.  Here are some articles and pictures from these two magazines that I hope you’ll all enjoy.

Went in GQ Magazine Germany 2007

The Imprisoned Brother

TV show Prison Break was actor Wentworth Miller's breakout project. He moves around freely in our country - and presents the current urban fashion.

HYATT ON SUNSET, ROOM 1008, LA

There he is in boxer shorts. A little taller (1,85 m =6'1), a little stronger (he doesn't exercise), a lot younger (35 this June) and a lot better looking (the three mile stare!) than expected. Full name: Wentworth Earl Miller III. He's trying on clothes completely undisturbed. A Marco Polo raincoat and an Armani cashmere coat are his favorites. There's no entourage or a watcher accompanying him. Pleasantly little fuss over the face of US serial TV in the last few years.

2003 was expected to be Wentworth Miller's breakout year. He finally got a coveted role, being cast in a movie with Nicole Kidman and Anthony Hopkins. The social drama, an adaptation of a Phillip Roth novel, was called The Human Stain. Hardly anyone saw the film. As Miller recalls, "I hoped so badly that this movie would open some doors a little wider for me. But it was more like coming from an easy trot to a complete halt."

Until then he was recognized for the movie Underworld and TV guest spots on Buffy, The Vampire Slayer, ER and Dinotopia. I only knew Wentworth Miller from Mariah Carey's 2005 video 'We belong together'. The video was directed by Brett Ratner, who then hired Miller as the star of his upcoming show Prison Break. The Princeton grad surprised everyone with his MacGyver abilities in the role. The third season is currently being filmed. Prison Break is not a ratings hit only in the United States. A PR-woman confessed to me in Paris recently that she was .... [I censored the word, out of respect for Went and others] for Went. And Went talks of Korea, which he visited a month ago – panties were thrown. "It's amazing; the success the show has had there. I couldn't go out in the street alone." His face is on almost every street corner in Seoul. He's a spokes model for a jeans company and a coffee brand. But he doesn't talk about that. Just on the previous day Miller modelled for another Korean catalogue.

Los Angeles Harbor, Went is sipping on his Peppermint Moccha Chip Frappucino and chatting about his German roots. "Miller, Müller, you know!" A wast [apologies … I don’t quite know what this word is … probably a spelling mistake, but I’ve taken it from the actual article] understatement. According to his official biography he also has African, Jamaican, English, Jewish and Indian roots – from his father's side alone. He's visited Germany before, "I toured Europe a lot of times during college with Tigertones, an a cappella singing group. Each time we visited Heidelberg. We would lay our hats on the town square and tried to earn our meal money. It would just cover beer and bratwursts. And I remember this pool where the girls could go topless. In retrospect I think that's the only reason why Heidelberg was always on our travelling schedule." Went surely wouldn't mind jumping in a pool right now. But the scorching 48˚C (118 F) and heavy winter outfits don't slow him down. And a planned five hour shoot extends to eight. He then gets into his air conditioned limousine. Wentworth Miller has to get back to his cell.

Went in GQ Italy Magazine 2008.

Wentworth Miller is looking good and stylish on the cover of the spring summer issue of the GQ Italy. He was photographed by Matthias Vriens.

Matthias Vriens McGrath got behind the lens for Wentworth Miller’s appearance on the cover of Italian GQ Style Spring Summer Edition. Not familiar with Mr. Miller? Well, if you’ve been hiding under a rock, you should know that Wentworth Miller is the star of Prison Break, a show that’s always known how to “wow” us. Unfortunately, it’s in its final season, leaving us to wonder when and where we’ll be seeing Mr. Miller next. [You can say that again … she laughs and winks… nudge, nudge.]

To sum up … I thought I’d end my blog with this appropriate You Tube video.

We’re not finished with Went’s photo shoots everyone; there are more wonderful pictures to follow. [She winks.]

Thank you all for reading this blog.

Goodbye!

Wentworth Miller: A Golden Day by Paul Laurence Dunbar

A Golden Day

I found you and I lost you,
All on a gleaming day.
The day was filled with sunshine,
And the land was full of May.
A golden bird was singing
Its melody divine,
I found you and I loved you,
And all the world was mine.
I found you and I lost you,
All on a golden day,
But when I dream of you, dear,
It is always brimming May.

~ Paul Laurence Dunbar ~

A lovely song, for a lovely man!

Wentworth Miller: Billboards and Magazines.

Went’s image was plastered on billboards all over the world … and not only in Hollywood.  He even appeared on our billboards here in sunny South Africa.   Prison Break was advertised on every billboard across the highways and byways.   No wonder the accident rate increased on our roads while Prison Break was shown here. [She laughs.]  If you’re a huge fan of Wentworth’s you’ll know exactly what I’m getting at.  Picture this:  You’re cruising along the highway deep in thought, probably thinking about Went at the time, and lo and behold there he is … smack, bang, right in front of you.  His image is splashed on this huge billboard right there for you not to miss him.  I mean let’s all face it; wouldn’t you lose control?  And then as you gaze in your review mirror and see the carnage left behind you and you’re wondering to yourself  “I wonder what happened back there?” … the very next sign you come across reads … “DRIVE SAFELY!” Now isn’t that ironic? [She laughs.] Went you don’t realise what a dangerous distraction you are at times. [She shakes her head and mutters under her breath “honestly this man will be the death of me yet.”]

Went was also plastered on every magazine cover you can think of too.  He was quite the model and understandably so.  I mean his character wasn’t called “The Pretty” in Prison Break for nothing, though I much prefer to call Wentworth “The Beautiful”.  Pretty to me is far too shallow a word to describe Went, however the word beautiful has a far deeper meaning for me and Went is beautiful in every sense of the word.  Not only is he beautiful in looks, but he’s a beautiful human being too.  He has rightfully earned the respect and admiration from his fans for being such an honourable and humble person and might I add, one who has achieved so much in his life up until now.

Having said all that, it gives me great pleasure [She winks] to display his outward beauty here for you all to admire and goggle over.  Bear in mind though it’s only a peak at some of my favourite pictures from photo shoots and magazines as I’m sure you’ve all got your own albums of Went stashed all over the show.  Not to mention the pictures you have downloaded on your hard drives, backups, ipods, this pad that pad, berry’s, cell phones’ and if that’s not enough there’s even tablets to help you out. [She giggles.]  All this technology blows my mind sometimes … it’s hard to keep up with it.  I’m an old fashioned girl what can I say.  Anyway without further ado here they are for you …

Yes he was in them all from Axm’s, Cosmo, Cosmo Men, People Magazine, Details, Road Show, Woman’s Weekly, Cosmopolitan, Oriental Entertainment Star’s Mag., OK Mag., etc … etc … to  MAD Magazine.  You name it, Went was in it.  MAD Magazine has always been my all time favourite Magazine and I’m so chuffed that Went made an appearance in it.  I particularly enjoyed Don Martin’s humour too.

Just for laughs I thought I’d add this in.

Jokes aside … Went I’m proud of you.  This was an awesome achievement for you as far as I’m concerned!

MAD slam dunks the NBA, puts Prison Break in shackles and takes a shot at Dick Cheney! MAD also spoofs Brokeback Mountain, Taco Bell, the Grammys and much more. Plus, Spy vs. Spy and the Strip Club!

Q: How does it feel to be the hottest breakout star of the biggest breakout show this season?

Wentworth: You know the best part about the whole thing? We just got spoofed in 'MAD' magazine. You don’t know what that means to me. I swore by that thing when I was a kid. As far as I’m concerned, it doesn’t get any better than that period!

It appears to me that Went feels the same way as I do about ‘MAD’.  That’s my boy!  Now were talking!

Well it looks like we’re on track with modelling, promoting and travelling.

Speak to you soon folks goodbye!
