I’d never heard of Resident Evil or the video games. Much like Went I’m not into video games. Actually that would be a slight fib. I’m not quite sure if Pac-Man and the Ping Pong game would be classified as a video game, but after much coercing from my friends at the time, I gave it my best shot. [She laughs.] My idea of having a good time was curling up with a good book instead, or watching a romantic or horror movie.
When the news about Resident Evil Afterlife, broke in September 2009 informing the public that Went was acting in it, I was beside myself with excitement. It meant that I was going to see Went once again and to top it all, this time he was going to appear on the big screen in 3D. It would be my chance of getting up close and personal with him. This put Resident Evil: Afterlife on the top of my movie list that’s for sure. [She grins.]
I guess I wasn’t the only one feeling the excitement at the time. Every gamer was anticipating the movie. The Internet was abuzz with news about the next saga of Resident Evil. There was a lot of chatter and speculation about Went taking on the part of the muscle bound Chris Redfield. Would Went hit the gym and beef up his body to the “Incredible Hulk” size or would he opt for keeping his own well-proportioned physique? My goodness my imagination ran riot. I could just picture my Went with these huge muscular arms and chest, a small head, thick neck, rippled abs, big hands, banana shaped fingers, a tiny waist with muscle bound legs.
Something similar to this …
I thought to myself. Don't "they" realise it's more convincing and appealing to have a lean mean killing machine with a killer stare than a huge big muscle stomping around as Chris Redfield? This was a nightmare for me! How could I possibly see my Went in 3D in this shape or form? I asked myself with tears running down my cheeks.
What a relief it was for me when Went was photographed walking down the street and on set all well-proportioned and quite normal. Thank goodness these photos were released. It put my tortured mind at ease that’s for sure! [She giggles.]

Thank goodness for Milla Jovivich’s kind gesture of daily tweeting about the shooting of the movie. She kept the fans up to date on a daily basis and even answered their questions about the movie and of course about Went. Her endearing comments about Went only confirmed what a professional actor he is and what a sweet, kind, shy man he is too. Milla even posted this awesome video of Went and herself, when Went came back from his stint in China.

I hope you'll join Went and me on this amazing ride too as we visit Comic Con for the promotion of the movie.
Thank you for reading!
My song choice for Chris Redfield ...
