Wentworth Miller - A Burst of Hope!

Posted on 1:54 PM by hill wilf

Hope

Hope was but a timid friend;
She sat without the grated den,
Watching how my fate would tend,
Even as selfish-hearted men.

She was cruel in her fear;
Through the bars, one dreary day,
I looked out to see her there,
And she turned her face away!

Like a false guard, false watch keeping,
Still, in strife, she whispered peace;
She would sing while I was weeping;
If I listened, she would cease.

False she was, and unrelenting;
When my last joys strewed the ground,
Even Sorrow saw, repenting,
Those sad relics scattered round;
Hope, whose whisper would have given
Balm to all my frenzied pain,
Stretched her wings, and soared to heaven,
Went, and ne'er returned again!

Or so I thought ….

A Burst of Hope
by Debra Heylen

‘Till the sound of his voice
Speaking oh so eloquently
 Filled my head
Seductively

And suddenly
My timid friend Hope with others
Returned ... singing their promises
E'er so gently.

Sundance 2013 Movie Reviews of Stoker

Posted on 3:28 PM by hill wilf
Perhaps I should have named this title “To Review or Not to Review” instead.

I must confess I’ve only read some of the reviews about Stoker after its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival because I personally prefer to keep an open mind when I see Stoker rather than be swayed by another’s opinion.  The only problem is when Wentworth is attached to anything it’s pretty difficult for me to remain impartial not to mention to keep a clear head. Who can blame me? I just think Went is an extraordinary talented and creative person that's all.

David Zucker (Film Director, Producer and Screenwriter) put it this way ...

“I don’t take reviews very seriously, but in their totality I think they are representative of how the audience feels, and of what their reaction is.  There’s always one guy who doesn’t get it.

Liberace’s take on reviews:

When the reviews are bad I tell my staff that they can join me as I cry all the way to the bank.

I enjoyed reading Nicolas Cage’s quote about Reviews too.

“I’m at the point now where I know I’m doing something right when a movie gets mixed reviews, because then I’m not in the box.  I don’t want to make it too easy for people and I don’t want to make it too easy for myself.  I want to try something unusual."

I have posted a few links below of some of the interviews for the movie Stoker with Director Park Chan-Wook and the cast Nicole Kidman, Mia Masikowska and Matthew Goode for you.

Stoker Madness!

Posted on 12:05 PM by hill wilf

All the exciting news about Stoker has driven me completely mad with excitement.  The snippets of the movie that are being advertised all over  the internet are so enticing, that  it’s no wonder I find myself blogging and talking about it all the time and to top it off I haven’t even seen the movie yet.  God help us and Went, when I do!  [She laughs.]

The brilliant screenwriting by Wentworth, the acting from the cast including the cinematography, musical score, songs and the directorship of Park Chan-Wook is outstanding.  Every review about Stoker that I’ve come across has highly recommended the movie, and rightfully so.   Stoker is definitely Oscar material that’s for sure and hopefully the Academy of Motion Picture, Arts and Science will “get it right, this time”. [She winks.]

This is just oneof the intriguing images from the movie that has me completely captivated...

… and so does this amazing poster video.  Music by Emily Wells – Becomes the Color.

Went has not only charmed my soul, so has his amazing genius too.

Thank you once again Mr Miller. ♥

Wentworth Miller alias "Ted Foulke" or "The Sundance Kid".

Posted on 12:51 PM by hill wilf

The Sundance Film Festival has opened its doors to everyone and hopefully that special someone is going to be strolling or has even perhaps skied through those doors at high speed already.  Yes everyone I’m talking about the lovely Mr Miller aka “Ted Foulke” or “The Sundance Kid” for obvious reasons.

In case you don’t know by now Stoker is going to premier at the Festival on Sunday 20 January 2013.  Here’s the link.

Best Things to do During the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah:

and even for a more pleasurable option:

Should you be one of the fortunate ones to be there already, this is an urgent appeal from Went's fans that if you should be lucky enough to spot, bump into or to give chase after Went, please ask him politely, in between catching your breath, for his photograph.  We’d all be delighted and grateful if you would share your capture of him with us  ‘cause we all miss him so very, very much and you'd make us so happy.  Thank you!

"Here’s hopefully looking at you Kid", on camera.

As A Perfume for Wentworth Miller

Posted on 3:21 PM by hill wilf

As A Perfume

As a perfume doth remain
In the folds where it hath lain,
So the thought of you, remaining
Deeply folded in my brain,
Will not leave me: all things leave me:
You remain.

Other thoughts may come and go,
Other moments I may know
That shall waft me, in their going,
As a breath blown to and fro,
Fragrant memories: fragrant memories
Come and go.

Only thoughts of you remain
In my heart where they have lain,
Perfumed thoughts of you, remaining,
A hid sweetness, in my brain.
Others leave me: all things leave me:
You remain.
